Funding for non-profits to support local food systems
Grant funding to support projects that strengthen community food security and increase the availability and accessibility of local, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food. Funding is for the purchase and installation of one or a few pieces of infrastructure/equipment in a single community, with a mandatory food production element.

Demographics: Indigenous, Black communities, 2SLGBTQI+, women, youth, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities
Other Criteria: Must be an Indigenous (First Nation, MΓ©tis, Inuit) organization, a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to provide community food services, or a Municipal Administration, Fosters equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) by removing barriers for equal access to opportunities and resources, In operation for at least 2 years as a legal entity (federally, provincially, or territorially incorporated) capable of entering into legally binding agreements, Project must include a food production element, Project must focus on food security in a single community (combining projects from multiple communities is not allowed), Project activities must predominantly serve equity-deserving groups, particularly Indigenous and Black communities, Equipment cannot be installed on residential property (exceptions may apply for Indigenous groups), Minimum request of $25,000 in eligible costs from AAFC
