Funding for young poultry and/or egg producers
Helps young farmers modernize their operations and improve efficiency. Covers up to 85% of the costs for on-farm investments.
Reimbursement-based, non-repayable contributions (totaling almost $759 million over 10 years) for on-farm investments. Funding is allocated by sector and province based on the applicant's share of provincial quota/production holdings on January 1, 2021. Supports projects to increase efficiency/productivity, improve food safety/biosecurity, enhance environmental sustainability, or respond to consumer preferences (e.g., animal welfare, alternative housing, organic production). Young producers may receive an additional cost-share (up to 85% of eligible costs).
