Funding for poultry and/or egg producers
Helps poultry and egg farmers pay for improvements to their operations and sustainability. Covers up to 70% of the costs for these investments.
Reimbursement-based non-repayable contributions to help supply-managed poultry and egg producers adapt to market changes from international trade agreements (CPTPP, CUSMA). Supports on-farm investments to increase efficiency/productivity, improve food safety/biosecurity, improve environmental sustainability, and respond to consumer preferences (animal welfare, alternative housing, organic production). Funding is allocated by sector and province based on quota/production holdings on Jan 1, 2021. Cost-sharing is up to 70% AAFC, minimum 30% producer, with up to 85% AAFC for young producers.

Other Criteria: poultry and/or egg producers holding quota, poultry and/or egg producers licensed by a provincial marketing agency, Atlantic Canada Hatching Egg Producers, poultry and/or egg producers under new entrant programs with loaned quota, must have held quota/shares of provincial production on January 1, 2021, individual or legal entity capable of entering into legally binding agreements and contracts, actively engaged in farming in Canada as a poultry and/or egg producer
