The Southwestern Ontario Development Fund provides support for projects and investments to existing businesses, municipalities and not-for-profit organizations for economic development in southwestern Ontario. To be eligible, businesses need to have at least 3 years of operations/financial statements, employ at least 10 people (or 5 if you are in rural Ontario), and invest at least $500,000 in their project (or $200,000 if you are in rural Ontario).
Financial support (loans up to $5M and grants up to $1.5M, with varying percentages of eligible costs) and advisory services to help businesses grow, improve productivity, innovate, pursue new markets, and create jobs. Also supports community economic development projects and infrastructure in Southwestern Ontario.

Other Criteria: Incorporated for-profit businesses with a plan to invest in Southwestern Ontario (for business projects), Municipalities, economic development organizations, sector organizations, Indigenous communities, incorporated non-governmental organizations (with economic development mandate), or consortia (for community projects), Minimum 3 years of operations/financial statements, For business projects: employ at least 10 people (or 5 if in rural Ontario), For business projects: commit to creating at least 5 new jobs (or 30% increase for companies with fewer than 15 employees), For business projects: invest at least $500,000 in their project (or $200,000 if in rural Ontario), For community projects: invest more than $100,000 in their project, For community projects: require private sector support, For community projects: activities must be new to the organization, Project completed within 2-4 years, Project aligns with goals of economic development, business growth, productivity, innovation, job creation, and regional economic impact
