Funding for artificial intelligence in the Prairie region
Non-repayable funding for up to 90% of eligible costs for eligible not-for-profit organizations. Repayable funding will normally be provided to not-for-profit organizations undertaking commercial projects. Contributions aim to bring new AI technologies to market and speed-up AI adoption in critical sectors to enhance productivity, growth, and competitiveness for Canadian businesses.
Industries: artificial intelligence, technology, agriculture, clean technology, healthcare, manufacturing, critical minerals processing, food and ingredients processing, zero emission heavy equipment vehicles
Region: Prairie provinces
Demographics: indigenous-led
Other Criteria: not-for-profit organization (includes post-secondary educational institutions, business accelerators/incubators, angel networks, social enterprises, industry associations/consortia, municipalities, other levels of government), assist AI businesses, innovators, or entrepreneurs in the Prairies by supporting start-up development, growth, productivity enhancement, technology commercialization, technology adoption, or export and investment attraction, legal entity capable of entering into legally binding agreements, have an operating presence in the Prairies, projects must involve commercialization and/or adoption of AI technologies, limited to one RAII project approval per calendar year, financially self-sustaining (for non-repayable funding), confirmed funding from all other sources including government and non-government
