Funding for artificial intelligence in the Prairie region
Interest-free repayable funding for businesses (up to 50% of eligible costs) and non-repayable funding for not-for-profit organizations (up to 90% of eligible costs) for projects over a maximum of 3 years. Government funding is capped at 50% of eligible capital costs and 75% of other eligible costs for businesses/commercial projects. The program supports SMEs in integrating AI into business operations, implementing AI strategies, and finding skilled workers to enhance productivity, growth, and competitiveness. Technical assessment services may also be provided through IRAP.

Other Criteria: For-profit businesses incorporated to conduct business in Canada, For-profit businesses employing at least one full-time equivalent (FTE), For-profit businesses in operation for a minimum of two years, For-profit businesses with staffed operating facilities in the Prairie Provinces, Commercializing AI technologies (above Technology Readiness Level 7) or adopting AI-based solutions (preference for Canadian AI solutions), Have confirmed funding from all other sources (government and non-government), Legal entity capable of entering into legally binding agreements, Not-for-profit organizations assisting AI businesses, innovators, or entrepreneurs in the Prairies (e.g., supporting start-up development, growth, technology commercialization/adoption, export/investment attraction), Not-for-profit organizations with an operating presence in the Prairies, Organizations are limited to one RAII project approval per calendar year, Projects must be completed by March 31, 2029
