Funding for projects related to the preservation, management, and presentation of Indigenous cultural heritage in Canada. This includes initiatives for public awareness, professional development, rematriation/repatriation of cultural belongings, capacity building, and exhibition development. Projects normally funded up to 70% of eligible expenses, with up to 100% for exceptional circumstances (remote/rural areas, under-served communities).

Other Criteria: Indigenous governing bodies or Indigenous organizations with a mandate to preserve and support First Nations, Inuit and/or Métis heritage, Incorporated non-profit Canadian museums that employ at least one paid professional staff and have policies for key museum functions (if government-governed or institutional, must have distinct objectives, programs, and budgets), Incorporated non-profit Canadian service organizations whose membership relates to the museum sector (e.g. museums associations) that employ at least one paid professional staff, Non-Indigenous organizations must demonstrate a close collaboration or strong partnership with an Indigenous organization, Projects must have a clear start and end date, defined activities, and demonstrate measurable products and results
