Wage subsidy to hire Indigenous people in the clean economy
Employers can receive a wage subsidy covering up to 80% of an employee's salary (up to $15,000, for two to eight months) for hiring Indigenous job seekers in qualifying clean economy positions. Job seekers are offered education and training recommendations, and support for barrier alleviation (financial, technical, physical).
Industries: clean economy, renewable energy, land and water conservancy, waste management
Region: Nova Scotia
Demographics: Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or MΓ©tis)
Other Criteria: Job seekers must be age 15 and up, Employers must be Nova Scotia-based organizations, Positions must contribute to the clean economy, Subsidies can cover new or existing positions
