Employers receive a hiring incentive to cover 50% of a student's or recent graduate's wages (up to $10/hour) for a 12-to-17-week work term. An increased subsidy of 60% (up to $12/hour) is available for students or recent graduates who self-identify as Miโkmaq or Indigenous, a woman in an underrepresented occupation, visible minority, African Nova Scotian, or a person with a disability. First-time applicants are eligible for an additional 10% incentive. The maximum subsidy for a single student for a 17-week term at $12/hour is $8,160.
