Funding for critical minerals sector in Ontario
Helps businesses in Ontario's critical minerals sector pay for project costs. Covers up to half the cost, to a maximum of $500,000.
Funding for projects that strengthen Ontario’s critical minerals sector by supporting research, development, and commercialization of innovative technologies, techniques, processes, and solutions, covering a maximum of 50% of eligible project costs.

Other Criteria: private-sector business, private-sector business collaborating with a public-sector academic or research institution, or a non-profit organization or association, project takes place in Ontario, project involves research, development, and/or commercialization of innovative technologies, techniques, processes, or solutions for critical minerals, project relates to one or more of the following key priority areas: battery supply chain, innovative techniques for deep exploration and mining, recovery of minerals, other innovative projects that support the critical minerals sector, project is not receiving funding from any other direct Government of Ontario program (provincial tax credits, industrial electricity support programs, and federal programs are exceptions if total government funding does not exceed 75% of eligible project costs)
