The Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy helps Canadian companies secure major defence contracts by requiring bidders to commit to business activities in Canada equal to the contract value. This fuels economic growth, supports the growth of prime contractors and suppliers (including SMEs), boosts innovation, increases export potential, and identifies skills development opportunities for Canadians. ACOA provides advisory support, connections, and advocacy to help Atlantic Canadian entities leverage these ITB-created opportunities and for contractors to understand the policy.

📋What Are the Application Steps & Timeline?

• Ensure you have the correct payment number and contact information.
• Complete the Identification and Certification form.
• Certify by the Recipient.
• Complete Non-cash Certification & Overdue Amounts to the Crown if applicable.
• Include costs claimed and paid by the Recipient.
• Declare and complete the Identification and Certification form.
• Fill out Detailed Costs Claimed as per Statement of Work.
• Attach files to your claim if necessary.
• Complete the Project Status report.
• Indicate future claims timing and amounts.
• Provide information on Expected Results achieved.
• Complete the Final Payment Certificate if this is the final claim.
• List all funding partners related to the project.
• Sign and complete the Final Payment Certificate.
• Review, certify, and submit your ACOA Direct Claim.
