Grants to train apprentices
Provincial grant payments (Achievement Incentive Program) to eligible employers (individuals or groups) in Ontario for sponsoring apprentices. Payments are provided at initial registration ($1,000, up to $2,000 if apprentice is under 25 or from an under-represented group), completion of in-class training levels ($1,000 per level, up to $12,000 with additional payments for specific apprentice demographics), and program completion ($1,000, up to $3,000 for specific apprentice demographics). Additionally, eligible employers of Red Seal apprentices may receive a federal Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit (equal to 10% of the apprentice salary, with a maximum of $2,000 per year, per apprentice for the first 2 years).
