Helps Indigenous women entrepreneurs in North-Eastern Ontario get loans to start or grow their businesses. Provides financial support for purchasing or expanding their ventures.
Micro-loan for Indigenous women entrepreneurs to start up or expand their business. The loan consists of 50% repayable and 45% non-repayable contributions, with an interest rate of prime plus up to 4% based on risk. Eligible expenses include capital costs, operating/working capital, marketing, and advisory services.

Other Criteria: applicant must be 18 years or over, applicant must have a majority (51%) equity stake in the ownership of the business, applicant must have the necessary skill set for the business, applicant must have an active role in strategic decision making and ongoing operations, applicant must contribute 5% cash equity to the business project, for-profit organizations (sole proprietorship, partnerships, social enterprises, incorporated companies, corporations, or co-operatives) are eligible, applicant must have relevant industry background, licenses, and certifications, applicant must be involved on a full-time basis (active entrepreneur), documentation of Aboriginal Ancestry (First Nations or Inuit required), business must be located in Waubetek's service area
