Funding for Indigenous women entrepreneurs
Helps Indigenous women entrepreneurs in Ontario get loans to start or grow their businesses. Provides financial support for purchasing or expanding their ventures.
Financial assistance through micro-loans (up to $20,000, with a 45% non-repayable portion), larger loans (up to $50,000), and grants (up to $3,000) coupled with one-on-one mentorship to support Indigenous women entrepreneurs starting or expanding businesses. Total financing packages can reach $100,000. Loans are offered at prime rate plus up to 4% interest with repayment terms of 3-5 years.

Other Criteria: Must be an Indigenous (First Nations and Inuit) woman (documentation required), Must be eighteen (18) years or over, Must have majority (50-51%) Indigenous women equity stake/ownership/control of the business, Must have the necessary skill set, relevant industry background, and management capacity for the business, Must be actively and integrally involved in the business’s ongoing operations and strategic decision-making (full-time basis), Required cash equity contribution (5% for specific loan funds, 10% for general financial assistance), For-profit organizations (sole proprietorship, partnerships, social enterprises, incorporated companies, corporations, or co-operatives), Mentorship program specifically for pre-launch or early-stage businesses
