Hire foreign workers for agriculture jobs
Provides eligible employers in primary agriculture with the ability to hire temporary foreign workers to address labour shortages. Employers are typically responsible for ensuring TFWs receive statutory benefits such as Employment Insurance, dental coverage, child benefits, pensions, and benefits for housing, student aid, family, disabilities, and after a death.

Other Criteria: Employer must operate in primary agriculture, defined by work duties performed within the boundaries of a farm, nursery, or greenhouse, Duties must involve specific agricultural activities such as operation of machinery, handling of animals (excluding fish) for raw products, or planting, care, harvesting, or preparation of crops/plants for market, Positions for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) must be consistent with National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes: 80020, 80021, 82030, 82031, 84120, 85100, 85101, 85103, Specific stream requirements apply: Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) requires TFWs from Mexico or participating Caribbean countries and production on the national commodities list; Agricultural stream requires production on the national commodities list; High-wage positions stream allows TFWs for any high-wage agricultural position when production is not on the national commodities list; Low-wage positions stream allows TFWs for a low-wage agricultural position when production is not on the national commodities list.
