Funding for NWT businesses making significant investments to expand and grow, with a focus on increasing local economic activity and employment outcomes. Projects are expected to leverage external funding and align with regional development plans. Priority is given to investments in technology and innovation.

Other Criteria: NWT businesses, making large investments to expand and grow their business, project must directly increase local business and economic activity, project must directly result in increased local employment outcomes, project must leverage funding sources outside the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT), project must be consistent with Department strategies and/or regional economic development plans, minimum equity requirement of 30% of project costs for Group 1 communities (Yellowknife, Hay River, Fort Smith, Inuvik), minimum equity requirement of 20% of project costs for Group 2 communities (all other NWT communities), priority given to applications that invest in technology and innovation
