Targeted funding for early-stage mineral exploration projects. Junior mining companies can receive up to $200,000 per project, covering 50% of eligible costs. Prospectors can receive up to $50,000 per project, covering 50% of eligible costs. An additional up to $15,000 (covering 100% of costs) is available for projects supporting Indigenous employment and business opportunities.

Other Criteria: non-producing junior mining company or licensed prospector, junior mining companies: market capitalization up to $100 million (or comparable for private), registered on the Ontario Business Registry (for companies), proposing grassroots mineral exploration in Ontario, must provide proof of funds to cover 100% of total project costs (as grant covers 50%), must provide valid certificate of insurance ($2 million commercial general liability), enrolled in Mining Lands Administration System and hold necessary mining lands tenure, have a valid exploration plan and/or permit issued under the Mining Act (where required), have approval of the plan/permit and/or tenure holder to apply, prospectors must possess an Ontario prospecting license for a minimum of one year, prospectors' claims must be in good standing with first year assessment work filed and approved, prospectors must hold at least 25% interest in the claim where eligible activity will occur, projects target critical minerals (primary or secondary) or other specified minerals for exploration
