This program supports Ontario-based not-for-profit arts organizations and for-profit publishers led by, working with, and providing services to professional artists across arts disciplines and sectors. Operating grants are a form of sustained investment in the province's arts infrastructure. Recipients of OAC operating grants in 2025-2026 will be automatically invited to apply.

Other Criteria: Ontario-based not-for-profit corporation, a federal not-for-profit corporation, or a for-profit publisher, Primary business address in Ontario, Pay professional fees or provide services to professional artists, Led by professional personnel, Completed at least two years of sustained, regular, ongoing programming in Ontario as of the application date, Have a range of revenue sources (e.g., private and government), Governed by a board of directors or an advisory body solely responsible for the organization, Demonstrate community support and involvement (membership, fundraising, volunteer), Proof of sound administrative and financial management (planning, risk management, succession strategies), Registered through CADAC (Canadian Arts Data / DonnΓ©es sur les arts au Canada), Submit verification of financial results of the last completed fiscal year (audited for over $50k grant request, review engagement for $25,001-$50k, unaudited for $25k and under), Meet any additional eligibility requirements specific to its category, New applicants must contact the program officer to discuss eligibility and suitability at least two months before the deadline, Literature Publishers: must pay contributor fees or royalties, not charge for editorial services. Magazine publishers must be significantly devoted to original fiction, poetry, or critical commentary on arts/culture/society, and have published at least two issues or posted 40 original online content items in each of the two most recent fiscal years. Book publishers must have published at least two eligible books with at least 50% Canadian-authored by non-shareholder/owner authors in each of the two most recent fiscal years., Media Arts and Visual Arts Organizations: must pay artists according to CARFAC/IMAA fee standards, Francophone Organizations: must operate primarily in French, actively support the vitality of Ontarioβs Francophone artistic community, and submit applications in French
