Free and publicly available support for IP needs
Funding up to $100,000 annually (with a $300,000 lifetime cap) to cover up to 80% of eligible IP protection and commercialization costs. Clients from equity-deserving groups are eligible for an additional $25,000 per year. Also provides IP education, benchmarking tools, coaching, Q&A sessions, events, and workshops.

Other Criteria: fewer than 500 employees (full-time equivalent employees or contractors globally), managed by one or more Canadians (Permanent Residents or Citizens of Canada), owns intellectual property (IP) or is an exclusive licensee, intends to commercialize or monetize IP in Ontario, potential for social or economic benefits to Ontario, intends to grow business in Ontario long-term, primary headquarters and registered business address must be located in Ontario, Canadian-controlled entity (private for-profit >50% beneficial ownership by Canadian residents; public for-profit >20% beneficial ownership by Canadian residents), demonstrates financial ability to protect and commercialize IP, meets IP readiness and business stage criteria (for assessment), subsidiaries/affiliates must operate independently from parent entity, file taxes with CRA as separate entity in Ontario, and own/manage developed IP
