What Is This Program?

Need to solve a business problem in the areas of natural resources, applied science and/or engineering? Get funding at 50% of what you and your collaborators contribute to the project, to a maximum of $300,000, when you partner with at least one academic

Other Criteria: Collaboration between a B.C.-based industry partner and academic partner, Majority of project work must occur in B.C., Project partners must agree on IP ownership, Innovation at a minimum Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 3, Strong market potential with at least one letter of support, Strong research and commercialization plan (aim for commercialization within 3 years), Secure matching funds from industry or government at a 2:1 ratio ($1 Ignite fund matched by $2 from other sources), Project supports research and development of a new, innovative technology that solves an industry problem, Industry partner must be registered in B.C. with a significant presence, Startups can apply, recommended to demonstrate strong financial, managerial and strategic business capability to bring innovation to market, Eligible B.C. organization must maintain a leading role if partners are from outside B.C./Canada
