Funding for Indigenous audio and video content
Supports the production and distribution of culturally relevant Indigenous radio and television programming in the North, contributing to the protection, enhancement, reclamation, revitalization, maintenance and strengthening of Indigenous languages and cultures, and providing avenues to articulate issues of relevance to Indigenous audiences and communities. Funding can cover up to 100% of eligible project costs, up to $2,500,000 per fiscal year.

Other Criteria: existing recipients of the Northern Aboriginal Broadcasting component, received funding from the Northern Aboriginal Broadcasting component in 2025-2026, incorporated Indigenous not-for-profit organization, Indigenous government and equivalent organization, or its delegated authorities (e.g., council, Indigenous group, community, people with Section 35 rights), in exceptional circumstances, a non-Indigenous not-for-profit organization working in partnership with Indigenous organizations or advisory committees where Indigenous organizations do not exist, must provide broadcast communications north of the Hamelin Line, projects must include radio and/or television production activities that contribute to the preservation, promotion and revitalization of Indigenous languages, projects must facilitate Northern Indigenous participation in activities and developments related to the North
