Funding for beekeepers in Ontario
Cost-share funding (50%) to support beekeepers in maintaining healthy honey bee colonies and increasing their numbers to ensure the sustainability of the beekeeping industry in Ontario. Projects focus on operational improvements to reduce biosecurity risks, overwintering loss, and manage/prevent the introduction/spread of honey bee pests and diseases. This includes purchasing/modifying equipment/facilities, adopting best management practices, sampling/analysis for pests/diseases, and purchasing new honey bee stock/queens. Maximum funding is $25,000 for registered commercial beekeepers and $4,500 for registered hobbyist beekeepers.
