Funding for clean energy infrastructure projects
Non-repayable or conditionally repayable contribution funding for clean energy and transportation infrastructure projects that enable critical minerals development in Canada. Grant funding is also available to support Indigenous groups and organizations for engagement, participation, and capacity building. Funding can cover up to 50% of total eligible expenses, or up to 75% for Arctic, Northern, and Indigenous-led projects.

Other Criteria: Legal entities incorporated or registered in Canada, For-profit organizations, Not-for-profit organizations (e.g., industry associations, universities, research institutions), Provincial, territorial and municipal governments and related organizations (e.g., Crown corporations, public utilities, port authorities), Indigenous groups and organizations (e.g., communities, governments, tribal councils, majority-owned for-profit/not-for-profit organizations), Projects must be clean energy or transportation infrastructure projects, Focus on upstream (mining) segment of critical minerals value chain, Clean energy projects: minimum 500kW net installed capacity (Indigenous-led) or 4MW (not Indigenous-led), Transportation projects: must be for the movement of critical minerals only (not just people/equipment), Supported critical minerals mining project has a Feasibility Study (FS) or equivalent (PFS + FS in progress within 1 year of application), Indigenous-led supported mining projects for Stream 2: Preliminary Economic Analysis (PEA) or equivalent, Infrastructure project is shovel-ready (all necessary regulatory approvals, permits, land access rights obtained, or expected within 6 months of submission), Applicant is in good standing with NRCan and has effective control of all project elements
