Rural Atlantic Canada business loan
Gives small businesses in rural Atlantic Canada a loan of up to $150,000 to buy or grow their business. Helps with purchasing equipment or developing new markets.
Repayable financial assistance, including demand or term loans, loan guarantees, or equity investments, available for 1 to 10 years and typically secured. Funds can be used for start-up, purchasing or expanding a business, land, buildings, fixed assets, machinery, equipment, furniture, business vehicles, franchise purchases, or leasehold improvements. Loans are typically up to $150,000, but can exceed this in certain circumstances. Also includes business counselling and technical services.

Other Criteria: Entrepreneurs or businesses purchasing a new or existing company, Expanding an existing business, An existing company in need of working capital, Both year-round and seasonal businesses are eligible, Must show a legitimate chance of economic viability, Must contribute to employment creation and/or maintenance without negatively impacting existing area businesses, Project must involve eligible expenses such as: start-up, land and buildings, fixed assets, machinery, equipment, furniture, business vehicles, franchise purchases, or leasehold improvements
