Financial support for eligible Canadian publishers of digital-only magazines and community newspapers. Funding is based on eligible editorial expenditures incurred over a 12-month period for activities like creation, production, marketing, distribution, and website development and enhancement. The maximum funding is $150,000 per periodical.

Other Criteria: Publishing firm must be a private-sector entity (corporations, not-for-profit organizations, partnerships, sole proprietorships), Publishing firm must be majority owned and controlled by Canadians, Publishing firm must have its principal place of business in Canada, Publishing firm must have published 1 or more eligible periodicals at the application deadline, Publishing firm must maintain eligibility during the term of a grant or contribution agreement, Periodical must be published by an eligible publishing firm, Periodical must be majority owned and controlled by Canadians, Periodical must be either a digital-only magazine or digital-only community newspaper, Periodical must have completed at least 1 uninterrupted 12-month publishing cycle at the application deadline, Periodical must continue to be published until at least March 31, 2027, Periodical must maintain a regular publishing schedule with majority editorial content changing at least twice during a 12-month period, Periodical must be edited, designed and published in Canada, Periodical must contain an average of at least 80% Canadian editorial content (50% for ethnocultural periodicals), Periodical must contain an average of at most 70% advertising, Periodical must contain a minimum of 51% of original content, Periodical must have articles date-stamped with identified authors, Periodical must have a clear distinction between editorial content, advertising, advertorial content and sponsored content, Periodical must maintain an editorial function where the editor is named, Periodical must regularly present written editorial content from more than 1 person, Periodical must present a clearly displayed masthead or contact page with publisher and editor names, Periodical must be available in machine-readable format (e.g., URL, app, email, third-party platform) and provide access, Periodical must generate revenues (subscription, advertising sales), Periodical must have a verifiable method of distribution, Periodical must have a minimum of $10,000 in editorial expenses in a fiscal year ($5,000 for official-language minority, Indigenous, ethnocultural, and 2SLGBTQI+ digital publications), At least 50% of content must be in written format (videos must have corresponding text article)
