The CAPF provides financial assistance to organizations that professionally present arts festivals or performing arts series (arts presenters) and organizations that offer support to arts presenters, providing Canadians with access to professional artistic experiences in their communities. The government announced $46.5 million over 3 years, starting in 2026-2027, for the CAPF to support professionally presented arts festivals or performing arts series.

This includes support for existing presenters and presenter support organizations, as well as the emergence of new presenters and support organizations, particularly those serving under-served communities.

Other Criteria: incorporated under Canada Corporations Act or Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act (or corresponding provincial/territorial legislation), provincial, territorial or municipal institutions (including agencies and public educational institutions that organize presentation activities for the public), Indigenous institutions or organizations (Inuit, MΓ©tis, First Nations), For 'Professional Arts Festivals and Performing Arts Series Presenters' stream: existing professional arts festivals and performing arts series presenters, For 'Presenter Support Organizations' stream: existing presenter support organizations, in existence for at least one year, with a core focus on strengthening arts presentation in Canada, offering activities that support arts presenters, artists, and Canadian arts presentation circuits, For 'Development' stream: support the emergence of arts presenters and presenter support organizations for under-served communities or artistic practices
