📌Additional Criteria

• For-profit organizations
• Not-for-profit organizations (including associations, clubs, co-operatives, societies, sector councils)
• Legal entity capable of entering into legal binding agreements
• Consent to share a summary of your proposal with other federal, provincial, and territorial governments
• Research activities must align with at least one of the 3 priority areas (Climate change and environment, Economic growth and development, Sector resilience and societal challenges)
• Activities typically include Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 4 to 7 (proof of concept to prototype)
• Proposals are expected to include activities addressing environmental issues (proposals with no or limited environmental research deemed low priority)
• For variety development, priority given to early stage development work (new traits, genome development, plant breeding)
• Pest and disease surveillance only eligible if part of a broader research activity (not routine monitoring)
• Activities supporting Indigenous knowledge systems and scientists are eligible
• Organizations targeting Indigenous, 2SLGBTQI+, visible minorities, women, youth, and persons with disabilities, or with diverse Boards of Directors (30%+) and DEI plans, are encouraged
