The Visual Artists Creation Projects program supports professional Ontario-based visual artists to create new work, aiming to reflect the range of artistic practices in the visual arts and support excellence, regional activity, diverse artists, and communities. Grants are available for emerging ($5,000), mid-career ($7,500), and established ($15,000) artists.
This program provides grants to professional Ontario-based visual artists for the creation of new work. Funding is tiered based on career stage: Emerging artists receive $5,000, Mid-career artists receive $7,500, and Established artists receive $15,000. Grants cover eligible expenses such as material and supplies, production costs, studio/equipment rental, purchase of small-scale equipment/software, artist fees, project-required travel, and childcare/dependant care fees. Partial grants are not awarded. Supplementary funds for project-related accessibility expenses are available for Deaf artists and artists with disabilities through the Accessibility Fund: Project Support.

Other Criteria: Professional visual artists, Emerging artists: practicing professionally for at least 3 years and with a small exhibition record, Mid-career artists: practicing professionally for at least 8 years, with a reasonable body of work and a fair degree of public exposure, Established artists: practicing professionally for at least 15 years, with an extensive body of work and a history of national and international exhibitions and/or wide recognition, Artists working in collaboration (all team members must meet program and category eligibility criteria; one lead applicant must apply on behalf of the group), Applicants must have creative control over the project and hold copyright to the proposed work, Applicants must meet program and OAC eligibility criteria at the time of application and for the duration of your project
