Support for Alberta's industrial and manufacturing sectors
Helps facilities improve profits by lowering energy costs and building skills. Covers costs for upgrades to energy-efficient systems.
Incentive funding for industrial and manufacturing facilities in Alberta to improve energy performance and reduce emissions. The program covers up to 50% of eligible project costs for for-profit organizations and up to 100% for not-for-profits and Indigenous organizations. Specific incentives include up to $50,000 for Energy Assessments and Audits (currently closed to new applications), up to $50,000 or $250,000 for Energy Management Information Systems (based on annual energy consumption), up to $100,000 worth of Strategic Energy Management training (currently closed to new applications), and up to $1,000,000 for energy-efficient Capital Retrofit projects. A mandatory Facility Readiness Assessment (FRA) provides detailed analysis and recommendations.

Other Criteria: Industrial or manufacturing facilities owned or leased by the participant (landlord permission required for leased facilities), Facilities must have been in operation for at least one year with fixed equipment, buildings, or complexes for extraction, production, or manufacturing, All participants must first undergo a Facility Readiness Assessment (FRA), Capital Retrofit projects must achieve a minimum 5% target energy and 5% GHG emissions reductions compared to the baseline scenario, Energy efficiency projects must be non-emitting at the point of energy use, Must disclose any other government funding used for SEMI and other program activities
