This $25,000 annual award recognizes exceptional Canadian fine craft artists and their contributions to the field, and is funded by The Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation. The Canadian Museum of History acquires works from the winning artist for its permanent collection. The Canada Council for the Arts administers and promotes the award as part of the Governor General's Awards in Visual and Media Arts.
