Helps Alberta employers train new employees and supports their wages during onboarding. Provides customized training and connects businesses with motivated job seekers.
Provides wage and training support to ease onboarding costs, customized skills training for new employees, access to pre-screened job seekers, and administrative assistance for hiring and onboarding.
Region: Alberta, Airdrie, Strathmore, Cochrane, Crossfield, Chestermere, Springbank, Carseland, Beiseker, Balzac, Calgary, Edmonton
Other Criteria: able to provide valuable on-the-job learning or meaningful work experience, offer potential for continued employment once the training contract concludes, commit to hiring and training an individual for 8 to 16 weeks (On-the-Job Training stream), offer a short-term placement of up to 3 weeks (Paid Work Experience stream), willingness to hire job seekers who are unemployed or underemployed Albertans (working fewer than 20 hours per week), 18+ years old, legally entitled to work or train in Canada (citizen, permanent resident, or person with conferred refugee status), and actively working to re-enter the labour market
