This Calgary Arts Development program provides one-time project funding to professional Calgary-based individual artists, artist collectives and cultural workers in any artistic discipline, to help support artistic projects, including research, creation, development, production, marketing, or presentation. Individual artists may apply for up to $20,000, and artist collectives may apply for up to $25,000.

Individual artists can apply for up to $20,000, and artist collectives for up to $25,000. Funds support artistic projects including research, creation, professional development, marketing, and public presentation. The program also offers staff support and financial assistance (up to $600) for accessibility-related application needs.
Industries: any artistic discipline (e.g., dance, theatre, music, literary, visual arts, digital arts, Indigenous arts, film, public art, interdisciplinary)
Region: Calgary, Alberta
Other Criteria: professional individual artists, artist collectives, or cultural workers, primarily live and work in Calgary (at least six months of the year), demonstrate majority of work is accessible to Calgary citizens, have a meaningful and ongoing relationship with Calgary and its artistic communities, has no more than two open grants with Calgary Arts Development, is in good standing (no overdue final reports for prior grants), submit only one application per program deadline, not required to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, but must be able to report on this grant to the Canada Revenue Agency, project must be completed by December 31, 2027, project cannot be fully complete before May 13, 2026, funding cannot be used for courses counting towards a credit, diploma, or degree-granting program
