Support to help businesses make short-term investments
Financial support (grants or interest-free loans with potential for up to 30% forgiveness, max $1.5M) covering up to 75% of eligible project costs, and complementary non-financial advisory services and support for compliance approvals and accessing talent. Funding aims to help businesses enhance trade resiliency, strengthen local supply chains, and expand market reach in response to U.S. trade disruptions.

Other Criteria: for-profit business (legal entity or limited partnership) registered to carry out business in Ontario, minimum 3 years of substantive operations/financial statements, minimum 5 full-time equivalent (FTE) active employees (exceptions may be considered if significantly impacted by U.S. trade exposure and project demonstrates considerable benefits to Ontarioβs economy), demonstrates impact from U.S. tariffs (e.g., operates in sectors like steel, auto, aluminum; 30%+ revenue loss due to tariffs; or pivoting operations due to tariffs), project requires minimum $200,000 investment in eligible project costs, project must be completed within 2 years, all project financing must be secured by the project start date, project addresses impacts of U.S. trade disruptions and aligns with Ontario's economic priorities (trade diversity, trade security, supply chain strengthening, job creation/retention), project must be a distinct undertaking, separate from ongoing operations, priority given to projects capitalizing on domestic market opportunities and addressing Ontario's supply chain gaps
