Helps student and postdoctoral entrepreneurs develop their start-up's research or technology. Provides funding to support this growth.
Financial support for internships to pilot, refine, and commercialize new technology, products, or services for incorporated student/postdoc startups, complemented by professional development courses. Funding is provided as non-repayable contributions for internship units.

Other Criteria: Student or postdoctoral entrepreneur (undergraduate, graduate, college student, postdoctoral fellow, or recent graduate within two years), Actively housed at an approved incubator facility in Canada, Proposed research project must further develop the research or technology at the core of the start-up business, Start-up must be incorporated (not a sole proprietorship or LLP), Applicant must hold ownership and responsibility for the management/operations of the incorporated start-up, Must have an academic supervisor at a Mitacs partner academic institution in Canada, Interns must be enrolled as a student or hold recent graduate/postdoc status at an eligible Canadian institution for the duration of the internship, Part-time students are eligible for non-international travel internships under specific conditions
