Funding to support activities or initiatives that promote, support, or enhance entrepreneurship or innovation for underrepresented communities. Also includes personalized pitch sessions, an exclusive booth at HardTech Summit, and opportunities to pitch to investors/leaders.
Region: York Region
Demographics: underrepresented communities (Indigenous, Racialized Individuals, Persons with disabilities, Women, LGBTQ2+, Refugee, Immigrant communities)
Other Criteria: not-for-profit organization, community partners, proven track record of delivering programs and services in York Region, specifically for underrepresented communities, contribute to innovation in York Region, support innovation and sustainability, demonstrate innovative solutions or services that expand inclusion, diversity, or accessibility in York Region, able to match the $10,000 fund, limited to one application per project each round, project duration up to 10 months, a project cannot be funded for more than twice, previously funded recipients will not be eligible for two consecutive rounds of funding (e.g., 2024 recipients not eligible for 2025), previously funded recipients (excluding 2024 recipients) must put forward a new project or initiative
