Tax credit for investment in BC small business
Allows eligible British Columbia corporations to raise equity capital directly from investors, who can then claim a 30% provincial tax credit. The program helps EBCs attract investment for start-up, expansion, or growth projects.

Industries: manufacturing, processing, clean technologies, research and development, advanced commercialization, scale-up activities, non-traditional agriculture, retail and commercial services (promoting community diversification)

Other Criteria: incorporated under BC's Business Corporations Act, Canada's Business Corporations Act, or registered to carry on business in BC, cannot have more than 100 employees at the time of initial investment, must be substantially engaged in qualifying activities for 5 years after the date of the last investment for which an investor received a tax credit, must pay at least 75% of its wages and salaries to employees who regularly report to work at operations located in B.C., must maintain a permanent establishment in B.C. staffed by senior management, must maintain at least 80% of its assets in B.C., must have equity capital of at least $25,000 prior to registration, funds invested must be used for start-up, expansion or growth and not for prohibited purposes, must maintain eligibility requirements while registered in the program
