Tools to manage and leverage Intellectual Properties (IP)
Non-repayable funding provided through Contribution Agreements to Business Accelerators and Incubators (BAIs) to help Canadian startups understand, strategically manage, and leverage their Intellectual Property (IP). This includes IP education and awareness, development of IP strategies, and implementation of IP strategies. The program has an overall investment of $90 million over 4 years, with a maximum of $87 million available through this competitive call for proposals. Startups receiving funding from a Recipient (BAI) for IP strategy implementation are required to co-invest 10-35% of eligible costs, with a maximum of $100,000 per single startup.
Other Criteria: Canadian not-for-profit Business Accelerators and Incubators (BAIs), Canadian not-for-profit organizations representing networks of BAIs, Must deliver programming in all three IP categories (awareness, strategy development, implementation), Must be able to deliver programs and services in both official languages (English and French), Strong proposals demonstrate national or regional geographic representation and collaboration, Committed to supporting inclusive access to IP supports for Canadian startups
