Funding for broadband access in Northern Ontario
Funding for projects to improve and expand internet and cellular service infrastructure in Northern Ontario. The maximum amount of funding from all government sources will not exceed 90% of eligible project costs, with at least 85% of funding to be used for infrastructure.

Region: Northern Ontario, Trans-Canada and King’s Highways (for cellular expansion)
Demographics: Indigenous Communities
Other Criteria: Municipalities, municipal organizations, Community-based-networks, ICT community champions (not-for-profit economic development / innovation centres), Projects improving internet and cellular service in areas with internet speeds below 25 Mbps, Projects providing at least 25 Mbps of internet speed at a price similar to what nearby urban residents pay, Projects expanding cellular coverage along the Trans-Canada and King’s Highways, Projects must have applied to and been declined funding under other Ontario infrastructure programs, OR provide a detailed explanation why the project was ineligible for those programs
