Grants for employee training in Ontario
The Canada-Ontario Job Grant provides funding to help businesses train their employees, covering eligible training costs. It supports upgrading skills for existing employees or training new hires. Funding is up to $10,000 per trainee, with increased flexibility for small employers (less than 100 employees), who may receive up to $15,000 per trainee and potentially 100% funding when training unemployed individuals.

Other Criteria: Licensed to operate in Ontario, Individual private and non-profit sector employers, Organizations acting on behalf of employers (e.g., industry associations, union training halls), Employers must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, and all federal/provincial human rights legislation, Employers must commit to employing the individual upon completion of COJG-funded training, Employers must have adequate third-party general liability insurance and WSIB or equivalent coverage, Trainees must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons living in Ontario, Employed trainees must be identified by their employer, Unemployed trainees must be sponsored by an employer with a permanent or conditional offer of employment, Training must be delivered within Ontario for an Ontario-based job, Training must be delivered by an approved third-party training provider
