The BC Arts Council offers a wide range of grant programs to support B.C.-based individual artists, arts professionals, collectives, and arts and cultural organizations. These grants support various arts activities including creation, production, presentation, training, professional development, and circulation/touring. Specific grant types include individual arts grants, project assistance, operating assistance, and Indigenous arts and culture programs. Advisory support and contributions are also available for application assistance and to address accessibility needs for projects funded by BCAC.

Other Criteria: Individual artists, Arts professionals, Curators, Museum/cultural practitioners, Arts or curatorial collectives (3+ individuals, 2+ years professional practice, demonstrated body of work, Canadian citizen/Permanent Resident, BC resident for at least 12 months prior to deadline), B.C.-based not-for-profit arts and cultural organizations, For-profit book publishers, First Nations Band Councils, Indigenous community organizations (First Nations, Mรฉtis, Inuit governments in B.C.), Non-profit community service organizations (may offer some arts/culture programming, but not their primary purpose), Professional non-profit literary organizations, Non-profit periodical publishers, Professional arts organizations operated by local government or post-secondary institutions (dedicated space, staff, public programming, creative and financial autonomy), Organizations generally operating for at least one fiscal year prior to application, Majority of key staff and board members based in B.C., Creative control and decision making primarily maintained within the organization and by leadership based in B.C.
