Helps small businesses pay a lower tax rate of 2.5% on their first $500,000 of active business income. This is significantly less than the general corporate tax rate of 15%.
A reduced provincial corporate income tax rate of 2.5% (down from 3%, replacing the general rate of 15%) applied to the first $500,000 of active business income earned in Newfoundland and Labrador.
