Manitoba tax credit for installing green energy equipment
Provincial tax credits for installing new eligible green energy equipment in Manitoba. Specific rates include: Geothermal Heat Pump Systems (7.5% on Manitoba-made heat pumps; 15% on other capital costs if MGEA-certified installer; additional 7.5% for Manitoba-based manufacturers on sales); Solar Thermal Energy Systems (10% refundable on eligible capital costs); Biomass Fuel Energy Equipment (15% on eligible capital costs when used in a business). The credits reduce eligible capital costs, which include invoiced costs, taxes, insurance, freight, installation, and design, but exclude borrowing costs. Other government assistance reduces the claimable amount.
