Tax abatement incentive to encourage business in Saskatoon
Helps businesses in Saskatoon reduce costs through tax exemptions, waived utility deposits, and lowered fees. Aims to support local development and growth.
A property tax abatement program offered by the City of Saskatoon for eligible expansion or construction projects. Incentives may include exemptions or reductions of city taxes or fees, waiving of utility deposits and down payments on land, and exemptions or reductions of prepaid servicing levies. Abatements are calculated based on the incremental increase in property tax from the newly assessed value of the property and can be received for up to 5 years. Projects creating significant employment may be eligible for a full 100% abatement across all five years.
